Default Hellgate: London

How many people are waiting for this game? This site here has a countdown clock for release. 15 days, 22 hours, 53 minutes at time of posting. Also has links to the wiki page that explains a lot about the game. Personally I am probably going to get the collectors edition on the day it comes out because the box art looks a lot better than normal edition in my opinion. What about you guys?

Just as long as you've liked the beta a lot, so you don't go blowing away your money on a disappointing game.

I might get it, but not when it first comes out.

Ditto. I mean, that it's by the guys who did Diablo sounds great, and it's got some kind of story/differing classes thing going on... But how does the skill tree work? How does crafting, if any, work? How difficult is it to re-spec? Can we get some previews and game mag reviews anytime soon?

Not into RPGs any more (FPS ftw), but it still looks cool. Might get it anyways.

If you go with the hunter class you will be carrying guns and can go into first person view and play it like a fps. I'm looking forward to this aspect, plan on making one of the hunters.

Those have the skills for the classes, each class can split into one of two skill trees so there is really six different classes and more to come in expansions unless you pay for the elite online aspect then you will get everything added on when you log online.

The game is pretty fun so far

Since you can only join the beta by pre-ordering and you don't want to do that, FSS is releasing a single player demo this Thursday or Friday if you want to check how the gameplay is like. http://www.hellgatelondon.com/underg...ld-demo-coming

I have an account for the beta of mythos (a test ground for Hellgate:London)
Didn't much care for Mythos... it was ok

I may perhaps give Hellgate:London a try later on..

Demo was horrible. The game was not very challenging. It largely consisted slow moving zombies that could never hope to keep up with you. All the while you blasted them in the face and kill them with only a few hits. AI was dumb as rocks as well, and attacked the same way every time in predicable patterns.

Its a demo, they aren't gonna throw everything they have at you in a demo of the game.

The demo was suppose to convince me to purchase it. It failed, miserably.

I've been in beta for awhile and like the game thus far. I will probably take the Founders Club offer.

Update: I tried the demo
Even though people are bashing on it hardcore, i enjoyed it. Almost died facing a boss lvl 5 (i was 3 or 4) =\
Anyways it was rather amusing and the actual game is better (as many have said about the beta)
Look forward to purchasing it =)

When I first heard about it I thought it seemed really cool, but I tried the demo and eh, it kinda disappointed me. I know that the fact that its a DEMO makes it not perfect, but I have other games coming up in November that i'd rather spend my money on :P

I think your chances of enjoying this game is dependent on whether you enjoyed Diablo 2 or not.

If you loved Diablo 2, you're in luck. Hellgate: London follows Diablo 2's game play exactly; so much so they could've called it Diablo 3 and no one would've known the difference.

If you didn't like Diablo 2, well... there's always other games.

I loved Diablo 1 and 2. Hellgate is no Diablo. It reminds me of City of Villians graphic and gameplay wise. Its not really a hack n slash game. Might have the items and skills of a typical hns game but it plays like an MMO. Another game i got too overly hyped about. Undecided if i am going to go out and buy it. I am still waiting for that certain game to take me away.

I redownloaded a file and it worked just fine...

As for This being diablo 3, it is far from it. Although gameplay etc w/e is similar.
The lore is far different =\
